Table of Contents
With so much hype building around this year’s UEFA Euro 2021 competition, we are all set to witness some of the best football action as well as some best players to watch out for. Injury-time goals, long-range screamers, and some of the best action-packed moves are going to occur. For now, we are going to entail each nation’s best Premier League player down below. Let’s get started!
Group A
Italy – Luiz Jorginho
Despite spending around $200 million on forwards, Luiz Jorginho is still Chelsea’s leading goal scorer at the moment. The Italian was in demand a few summers ago when Manchester City was leading the race to sign. Still, he switched his allegiance to the blues. We’ll wait to see what awaits his future in the coming iteration of the European competition.
Switzerland – Xherdan Shaqiri
The winger of Liverpool, Xherdan Shaqiri, requires no introduction. Adept with both feet, his antics are appreciated by some big names in the football world. Switzerland will be looking to make the most of its progress through Shaqiri’s immaculate ability in front of the goal. On several occasions in his career, Shaqiri was nicknamed ‘The Alpine Messi’ for his attacking talent.
Turkey – Çaglar Söyüncü
After having an incredible season at Leicester City, Söyüncü will be looking to couple up with newly-signed Liverpool centre-back Ozan Kabak. He was called up in 2015 for the Turkish national team for his intricate ability to lead the play from the back and other attributes, such as dribbling and playmaking.
Wales – Gareth Bale
The heart of Welsh attack and a player with a magic of a left foot – Gareth Bale – is the first name on the sheet when we talk about each nation’s best player. Despite his horrific injuries and absences from the team, Bale can still lead his team into the battlefield and take any defender in the world head-on.
Group B
Belgium – Kevin de Bruyne
Kevin de Bruyne is probably the world’s finest midfielder in the world on par with Bruno Fernandes. The Belgian midfielder has an eagle eye and can create chances from almost anywhere on the field. He offers immense versatility, and due to that reason, he can operate in nearly all positions except the defence.
Denmark – Kasper Schmeichel
Kin to Peter Schmeichel, Kasper Schmeichel is a name that strikes fear into the minds of attackers. In 2018, Schmeichel kept a clean sheet in the first game for Denmark and broke his own father’s record for minutes without conceding a goal.
NOTE: There is actually no player featured in the Premier League for Finland and Russia. However, up until last season, Teemu Pukki regularly featured on the Norwich side. Still, upon their relegation, Premier League is left with no Finnish player.
Group C
Netherlands – Virgil van Dijk
Coming in at 6’4″, Virgil van Dijk is a strong centre-back gifted with pace, talent, and an eye for goal. Along with his terrific ability to defend at the back, van Dijk also possesses leadership ability. He is powerful in the air and quick with his feet, and the Netherlands are set with his team presence.
North Macedonia – Ezgjan Alioski
Ezgjan Alioski debuted for his International side, Macedonia, in 2013. By playing under the immensely talented manager Marcelo Bielsa, Alioski is all set to feature in the upcoming European competition this summer.
Ukraine – Oleksandr Zinchenko
Zinchenko is another star player in Manchester City’s squad and a terrific left-back under Pep Guardiola’s belt. With its offensive and defensive prowess, Ukraine will be put on the left flank.
NOTE: The Austrian team had Christian Fuchs as the only Premier League player, but he retired a few years ago from International football. Fuchs is a 34-year-old left-back who plays for Leicester City. Fuchs made his debut for Austria in 2006, and he retired from the International side in 2016.
Group D
Croatia – Mateo Kovacic
Kovacic has been hailed as a brilliant technician at midfield due to his excellent playmaking abilities. With so much versatility hovering, he can play at numerous positions without a hitch. He will be looking to boost Croatia’s chances of winning the European competition by partnering with Luka Modric and Ivan Rakitic in the midfield.
Czech Republic – Tomáš Soucek
After a great spell at West Ham United, Soucek is a tall player who is excellent at headers. His ability to latch on to the ball and score from impossible positions makes him one of his team’s best players. With his squad player, Vladimir Coufal, both West Ham players will be looking to go all guns blazing at the tournament this year making him a chance to be one of the best players in Euro 2021.
England – Harry Kane
When we talk about Harry Kane, we do not relate him with fancy hairstyles, fancy tattoos, or anything else. The prolific English striker is all about class. Harry Kane, along with being the best English player, is also a big contender for winning the golden boot this summers. As the Premier League’s leading goal scorer, it will come as no surprise if the Englishman leads his team to victory at the European stage.
Group E
Poland – Jan Bednarek
Bednarek, a centre-back, plays at Southampton, and he has had a fantastic series of performances for the club. With Lewandowski upfront, the Polish fans will be looking at Bednarek at the back to stop the fierce opponents.
Slovakia – Martin Dúbravka
The Newcastle man, Martin Dúbravka, is the first name on the Slovakian team sheet to deploy the best nation’s best from Premier League. The Slovakian fans will be rooting for their number one. Newcastle might not have had a fantastic position in the league, but if it wasn’t for Martin’s saves, things would have been far worse.
Spain – David De Gea
Facing a lot of tough competition, David de Gea will be eying up a straight number one spot in the European competition. With his stretching saves, he could prove to be a cog in Spain’s defensive lineup.
Sweden – Victor Lindelöf
After a terrific spell at Manchester United under the Norwegian manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Lindelöf will be looking to reinforce the Swiss defence with his excellent defensive skills.
Group F
France – Paul Pogba
Paul Pogba is the best Premier League player for France, but he is the best overall team. His versatility and bold presence in midfield allow him to hover on top for many reasons.
Germany – Ilkay Gündogan
After an incredible 2020/21 season at Manchester City, Gündogan is Germany’s best player from the Premier League. On par with Toni Kroos, Gündogan will be partnering up with some of the biggest names in the world of football. What awaits his destiny? We can only wait to find out.
Portugal – Bruno Fernandes
A player that has set the football world on fire – Bruno Fernandes – will increase Portugal’s chances of winning the UEFA Euro 2021 as well as the best players. With his immaculate and impeccable presence in midfield, he will be looking to set up Cristiano Ronaldo in the attack.
NOTE: There is no Hungarian player that features in the Premier League.
